Join us in celebrating Kitsap County’s Juneteenth Monumental Unity March for Freedom on June 19 at 11:45 AM at the Norm Dick’s Center in Bremerton, Washington. There will be speakers and music to kick off the event.  The march will proceed from the Norm Dick’s Center to Evergreen Park, where performances, food, fellowship and celebration will take place.  Everyone is invited!  Native, Black, Asian-American, Pacific Islander, LatinX, and Euro-American communities are all welcome. Let us all stand in solidarity and unity for justice and freedom. All ages, faiths, genders and ethnicities are welcome!

Juneteenth honors the emancipation of enslaved people.  It refers to June, 19, 1865, the day when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas and informed the last enslaved African Americans of their freedom

This year Washington State formally declared Juneteenth a state holiday.  This will be the 19th celebration of Juneteenth in Kitsap County.  Please come to march and stand in solidarity with us! Cultural regalia welcomed.
