Needed: Auction items for the JJ dinner

Organizers of the 2007 Jefferson Jackson Dinner & Auction need your help collecting items for the auction. Please look through your garages, attics, closets and cupboards or support a local business and make a purchase to donate. Re-gifting is approved. The JJ Team will be putting many of the items together to make wonderful baskets so small, individual and unusual small items are welcome. Artwork, plants, small electronics and appliances, antique items, jewelry, cookware, donations of services and etc. are also welcome. Here are a few more ideas:


  • Anything for Valentine’s Day (chocolates, dinning gift certificate, champagne, etc)
  • Italian Dinner Basket (pasta, sauces, apron, breadsticks, olive oil, etc)
  • Asian Basket
  • Sports Items (team wear, tickets, etc)
  • Garden Basket and/or Items (tools, seeds, gloves, clippers, etc)
  • Kitchen Basket and/or items
  • Breakfast Basket (scone mix, jams, tea-towels, etc)
  • Coffee or Tea Items (a pound of coffee a box of tea, antique tea cup, tea strainer, etc)
  • Office Supply items
  • Children’s Bubble Bath items (rubber ducks, soap, bubbles, etc)
  • Rainy Day or Grandma’s Basket (coloring books, crayons, etc)
  • Chocolate Lovers or Fruit basket
  • Party Basket (Micro brews, snacks, nuts, beer glasses)
  • Summer Picnic Basket
  • Home Movie Basket (popcorn, gift certificate to Blockbuster, candy, etc)
  • Gift certificates from any retail clother, gift or specialty shop, restaurant, bakery, sporting goods store, etc. are welcome.

Ballot measures

The 23rd LD democrats voted at the last business meeting to give support to the following ballot measures:

1. Support for Proposition #1, Kitsap Transit’s Passenger-Only Ferry Plan

2. Support for the Bainbridge Island M & O School Levy

Also recently passed was a resolution to support Governor Gregoire’s “Judicial
Independence Act” to allow public funding for qualified judicial candidates.

KCDCC Reorganizational Meeting Saturday, Jan 6th

The Kitsap County Democratic Central Committee (KCDCC) will be holding Its re-organizational meeting for 2007-2008 on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 10:00 AM (sharp) at the Event Center on Fairgrounds Road - at the County Fairgrounds. This is the meeting held every two years following the even year election to elect new officers and a new executive board for the Kitsap County Democratic Party.


At the meeting, Democratic Precinct Committee Officers (PCOs) elected in the primary election on September 19, 2006 will elect the following: Chair, Vice Chair (must be oposite sex of the Chair), Treasurer, State Committeewoman, State Committeeman, and four Executive Board Members from each of the three County Commissioner Districts.


Only newly elected Democratic PCOs are allowed to vote, but any Democrat residing in Kitsap County (or correct commissioner district for executive board) may run for the above positions. Also, anyone may nominate someone.


Nominations will be presented by the Nominating Committee and may be made from the floor.
