The 23rd Legislative District Democrats have endorsed two candidates who will appear on the August Primary Ballot on Bainbridge this year: Bill Knoblock in the Central Ward (Position#4) and Kim Brackett in the South Ward (Position #6).
Bill Knoblock is running for his third term on the Bainbridge City Council and is being endorsed for the third time by Democrats in the 23rd. He has earned it with his work to improve transparency in City government, protect the Island's natural resources, and exhibit due diligence toward the public dollar. Bill represents Bainbridge on the Kitsap Regional Council where his desire for sustainable communities is much appreciated by 23rd members living in the rest of the 23rd.
Kim Brackett has a well rounded background for work on a City Council. She graduated with a degree in business management and has been a project manager for Sound Transit, an environmental consultant, and the primary care-giver to her family. But she offers more than knowledge of transportation and land use issues. It was Kim's watchful presence that led to the restoration of a wetland destroyed by a developer on the Island. Her willingness to take action to protect the public interest is the essence of public service.
Both of these candidates believe that a critical issue for Bainbridge's future is the amount and availability of water on the Island. Both believe that growth must be achieved within the constraints of the natural environment and the result must be a sustainable future.
We believe they are the best chance to see the values we all hold be reflected in our local government and hope you will join us in their support. Ballots must be mailed by August 21st.
Thanks for your attention-
